Psychology services for ages 3 - 25
Frequently Asked Questions
What can I expect from my first few therapy session?
After contacting us and answering some inital questions, we'll match you with an avaliable psychologist based on the brief information you have provided our admin team.
Your first session is focused on gathering more information and answering any questions you might have. This is usually only attended by the parents / guardian for our under 18 yr old clients. During the first session, if we uncover something that your assigned psychologist can not support or work with, you'll be reassigned a new psychologist or placed on our waitlist. In this situation your first session will be free.
Otherwise if everything is fine after your first session, you'll continue working with your psychologist to collaboratively develop a plan for your therapy sessions together.
Do I need a referral from a GP or specialist to get an appointment?
You do not need a referral from a GP or specialist in order to get an appointment. However, in order to access Medicare rebates for your sessions you will need to first get a referral from your GP for a Mental Health Care Plan. Without a referral, you will be charged the full fee of $240 per session.
Can I get a Medicare rebate on sessions?
You can get a Medicare rebate on up to ten sessions per calendar year. In order to access these rebates, you will need to visit your GP and get a Mental Health Care Plan. You may be eligible for a further five sessions under an Enhanced Primary Care Plan if you have a diagnosed chronic medical condition. The Medicare rebate as of 2024 for a standard consult is $93.35. Meaning you will be out of pocket by $146.65 for our standard consult.
How much does it cost?
The standard cost of 50 minute private consultation is $240. However, you may be eligible for a Medicare rebate on sessions. Sessions may also be able to be claimed back via private health insurance, NDIS, Workcover or other funding bodies.

We also provide off site consults - fees vary depending on a few factors such as distance and type of service. Contact us directly to discuss.
Do you provide reports for courts?
We do not offer reports or recommendations for courts as part of our services, including providing custody recommendations. We also do not appear in courts to provide evidence.
How many sessions will I need?
The amount of sessions needed varies widely and is dependent on the nature of the particular challenges you or your child are facing. Some therapy is short term and, in more complex cases, longer term therapy is more beneficial. We will discuss your needs and come up with a plan together.
Are there cancellation fees?
Yes, if you cancel within 48 hours of your appointment there is a 50% late cancellation fee. Same day cancellations or failure to show up to your appointment will result in the full cost of the service being charged. These cancellation fees are unfortunately necessary to continue our services, as your appointment times are reserved for you and are difficult to fill in on short notice.
How can I pay for a service?
Our clinic uses Mandated Direct Debit to collect most of our payment for our services. These payments will be debited from your nominated account after each session.

Other forms of payments are avaliable but you will need to contact our admin team to discuss your needs.
If you are funded through NDIS and managed by a plan manager, we will facilitate payment through them. Moreover, we can handle your Medicare rebate processing as part of our service.

Therapy consults for NDIS self managed and plan managed clients
